Cycling is an activity that carries substantial risk of personal injury.
Riders are not participating in a bicycle race; riders are participating in a personal tour.
It bears repeating:
Cycling is an activity that carries substantial risk of personal injury.
Riders are operating bicycles on public roadways that are open to motor vehicles. This results in exposure on the part of bicycle riders to motor vehicle traffic, a potentially (some might say inherently) unsafe act. These roadways will not be marked with signage or ride workers to indicate the presence of bicycle riders to motor vehicle operators.
At all times, riders must comply with all applicable laws as they relate to the operation of bicycles on public roadways. Failure to do so is unlawful and inherently unsafe.

Physical conditions on public roadways are variable and subject to change at any time without notice to bicycle riders or motor vehicle operators.
Inclement weather can occur at any time and may adversely affect safety of bicycle riders and motor vehicle operators on public roadways.
If any rider feels unsafe at any time for any reason they should immediately stop riding and get off the road.

Ultimately, the decision to operate a bicycle on any roadway, and the potential consequence(s) of that decision, are placed solely with the rider. Riders can do everything correctly -- and accidents can still occur.

All riders agree to these terms and accept personal responsibility for any and all outcomes that could arise by operating a bicycle on public roadways as part of a Denali Randonneurs and/or RUSA ride.
